Deepanshu Chopra is the Founder and Director of Leatherkart Australia, Australia’s dedicated all-leather marketplace.

Originally from India, Deepanshu graduated in 2003 with a technology background and has built a professional career across technology, risk management, cyber security and governance. Alongside his technology career, he developed a strong interest in the leather industry more than a decade ago.

For over 10 years, Deepanshu has worked closely with leather manufacturers, artisans, wholesalers, retailers and suppliers across India and Australia. Through these experiences, he gained practical knowledge of genuine leather products, leather craftsmanship, manufacturing processes, sourcing practices and consumer buying behaviour.

Why Leatherkart Was Created

Throughout his journey, Deepanshu noticed a recurring problem faced by customers. Many consumers wanted genuine leather products but often struggled to determine whether a product was made from genuine leather or synthetic alternatives.

At the same time, many talented leather artisans, manufacturers, sellers and resellers lacked a dedicated platform focused entirely on leather products. These challenges inspired the creation of Leatherkart.

Founded in 2023, Leatherkart was built with a simple mission: to create Australia’s most trusted marketplace dedicated exclusively to genuine leather products.
